Invitation

24th May, 2019

Sir,

On behalf of the organizing committee of “UPAROICON 2019”, we feel privileged to invite you to participate in the 31st Annual Conference of Association of Radiation Oncologist of India-UP state chapter, to be held on 5th - 6th October 2019, being hosted by the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow, under the aegis of AROI.

UPAROICON conference is the biggest oncology stand-alone event in Uttar Pradesh. We plan to start with a CME for the trainees/ residents on 5th October (morning). The main conference will spread across 2 days, starting from the afternoon of 5th October. The theme of this year’s conference will be “Technical advances in Radiotherapy and Oncology - what is the impact and are we ready?”

Oncology is on the brink of a change in Uttar Pradesh, as centers/Institutes are now gearing up to implement modern technology. The conference aims to advocate and raise awareness of the pragmatic use of technology, emphasis on training and developing adequate quality control procedures for new radiotherapy techniques and synchronize it better with other aspects of clinical oncology.

As a unique feature of this conference, we will be acknowledging the presence of “Women in Oncology” who, by their sheer numbers form a significant chunk of technology users as of today. Apart from inviting them to share their initial experiences and hiccoughs (similar to the male colleagues) in implementing these techniques and its seamless integration with other aspects of clinical oncology, we would encourage them to bring out issues unique to their gender. For scientific updates kindly visit the website - www.rtsgpgi.com.

It's great to be in touch with the place where one laid the foundation of their dreams. We invite international and national alumni to be there for the entire event. We will be hosting alumni dinner and meet for people who walked through this organisation to relive the past and share their experiences.

Lucknow, known as Nawabo ka saher will be having moderate climate in the month of October, and we hope you will enjoy the mughal taste and culture as well as the ambience of SGPGI. We seek your active participation and hope this conference offers a great academic feast for all oncologists.

Without doubt, your support will go a long way in making this event a grand success. A written assurance from your end, as early as possible, will be much appreciated.

Best regards,
